FOR ARCHITECTS AND INTERIOR DESIGNERS

Connect the design brief with the details needed to build it.

Custom furniture needs a clear handover between the architectural idea, material choices and technical development. Start with the current design and the decisions that still need to be resolved, then agree the scope and review points together.

Share a useful project brief

Send the relevant plans, elevations and sections, reference images and your material intent. State which dimensions are measured, which are provisional and where furniture meets other trades.

  • Room geometry, installation zones and critical interfaces.
  • Front divisions, opening functions and appliance requirements.
  • Material references, budget priorities and target milestones.

Review appearance and technical constraints together

A convincing visual is only part of the decision. Review real material variants, thicknesses, edges, opening clearances and hardware requirements alongside the design. Record alternatives explicitly instead of treating a visually similar product as an exact substitute.

  • Distinguish design concepts from approved specifications.
  • Check material samples and the manufacturer's current documentation.
  • Resolve changes to dimensions or functions before final approval.

Agree the handover and responsibility

Define the drawings, schedules, models and other deliverables required for the project. Manufacturing data and machining details need a separate technical check for the chosen materials, hardware and production process.

  • Agree file formats and revision labels before exchanging models.
  • Keep a record of accepted options and outstanding decisions.
  • Confirm production and installation responsibilities with the offer.

Working together on a furniture specification

Can we start from an existing interior design?

Yes. Share the current drawings, images or model and describe the support needed. File compatibility, the quality of the input and the required deliverables are checked when agreeing the scope.

Can we specify a particular decor or fitting?

Include the manufacturer and exact product code where available. Suitability also depends on the material type, thickness, dimensions and use. Availability and any proposed alternative should be confirmed separately.

Does a 3D preview mean the design is ready for manufacture?

No. A preview supports design review. Dimensions, connections, material specifications and machining need to be checked and approved for the actual production process.

What is the best way to begin a collaboration?

Send a short project description, the current stage, available files and the questions you want to resolve. We can then discuss the scope, review points and next steps without assuming that every part of the project is already specified.
